I remember the Mon. AM flag salutes.  If I remember correctly, sixth grade students were selected on a rotating basis to hold the flag and lead the whole school in the Pledge of Allegiance. It was considered a big honor to be selected.

Sixth grade girls also worked in the cafeteria.  We had to wear hairnets and HATED them.  The worst assignment of all was scraping the garbage off the plates.

The only room I remember behind the cafeteria was the office for the after-school program.  You went there to check out kickballs, etc.  It had its own separate entrance.
